The Last Supper (year 2003)
This gold medal of the Vatican was minted in 2003 and is the twelfth in the series.
Closes the fourth trilogy dedicated to the life of Jesus.
The great tapestry of the Last Supper is displayed in the Pinacoteca Vaticana.
Inspiredby the famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci.
It was donated to Pope Clement VII from King Francis I in 1532.
The tapestry, the work of Flemish execution, was chosen to return the gift of a horn on the golden base that the Pope had given to the wedding of Henry II, son of Francis I with Catherine de Medici, nephew of the Pope.
In the "straight" is represented the famous "Ultima Cena" with the written" Ultima Cena ".
In the "reverse" is shown part of the building that houses the Pinacoteca Vaticana with a view of the dome of St. Peter.is engraved : "Musei Vaticani - XII Anno - 2003".

Weight: 34 grams in 18 Karati.
Coinage: 2000 copies, each coin has its own ID number stamped on the board.
